LIES ABOUT ZAFFICO: THE DESPERATE DRIVELS OF A DODO
By Sunday Chilufya Chanda
It is over a decade since UPND Leader Mr Hakainde Hichilema assumed leadership of the UPND in a well-documented tribally inclined hostile takeover in 2006.
Since then, Mr Hichilema has attempted 5 Presidential elections and he has been resoundingly rejected in all of them, getting as low as 18% of the vote in some.
The desperation of Mr Hakainde Hichilema is becoming more and more toxic to say the least; it reeks.
His desperation is driven by two major factors:
1.Possible “Nkongole”. (High Debt Burden)
Clearly those that have invested in UPND and his failed political career need better results than the losses he's been giving them.
Him and the Party he leads are behaving as though they are under extreme pressure from their "foreign financers" who have an interest in taking over Zambia’s National Resources.
It would not surprise us if Mr Hichilema owes them too much and that he is in a desperate debt crisis.
They have over the last 12 years poured millions of dollars into UPND campaigns and there has been nothing to show for it. All they have received in return is nothing but bitter excuses.
Like Shylock, they are now calling for their pound of flesh, and it seems Hakainde has pleaded “one more try”.
However, his clout and marketability remain grossly miscalculated.
2.Political Extinction
Having lost as many times as the fingers and thumb on the outstretched palm that is his party’s symbol, a high-strung Hichilema is getting more and more dodgy and edgy as 2021 approaches.
There is also growing dissatisfaction with his arrogance and “I know it all attitudes” among the younger leaders of his fatigued party and they will not tolerate another heavy loss on his part.
Jittery Hakainde is aware that when he loses in 2021, his political career will follow the Dinosaurs and the Dodo into extinction.
It is against the foregoing that Hichilema has become feverishly desperate.
So deplorable is his desperation to the extent that he has become increasingly destructive and recklessly daring such that he doesn't care about anyone or anything as long as he can get into plot one.
Like a manic-depressive jilted lover fueled by dutch courage, Hakainde has gone into an “if I can’t have you, nobody else will” destructive mode. His ways have become so poisoned that his lies and deceit are not as disguised as they were before. Hichilema will do and say anything even if it goes against his better judgment and sensibilities.(Assuming he still has a conscience).
Like the father of lies, he has pre-occupied himself with developing ways and means of spreading lies and sowing seeds of discord with a view to reaping civil disobedience and riots regardless of who or what may be destroyed.
Hakainde's Lies About ZAFFICO
Another of the many examples of his deception happened last Friday 2nd November 2018.
Mr Hakainde Hichilema in a telephone interview with Sun FM Radio of Ndola pulled yet another layer off his rotting onion of propaganda when he incited the people on the Copperbelt to riot as he alleged that ZAFFICO had been sold to the Chinese. Not long ago he lied to the nation about NRDC and Chimbokaila being sold to the Chinese, all calculated to trigger an uprising. What a liar and impish rubble-rouser!
The problem with Hakainde is that he closes his ears to all voices except his, which unfortunately does not have the timbre of reason; but the croak of crookedness.
Surely his amnesia can’t be that bad! It is only as recently as five weeks ago that Hon Margaret Mwanakatwe the Minister of Finance during her budget speech, stated Government’s intention to list ZAFFICO and ZSIC Life onto the Lusaka Stock Exchange.
It is rather disappointing that a man of Mr Hichilema’s supposed expertise should pretend not to know that listing a company on the Stock Exchange does not in any way connote the selling of it.
Perhaps he needs to be reminded that listing a company on the Stock Exchange is a strategic business decision to raise additional capital to recapitalise the company.
Mr Hichilema is supposed to know that!
This is not the first time Government has allowed its Para-statals to be listed.
The 1990’s saw a number of Para-statals getting listed on the exchange and becoming public companies.
Speaking of the 1990’s; Mr Hichilema is still haunted by unanswered privatisation era questions as well as controversy surrounding the source of his millions of dollars stashed in offshore tax avoidance accounts.
Why does he become so irritable, nervous and cagey when the issue of Privitisation comes up?
Why doesn't he answer straightforward questions on how he acquired major shares in Sun Hotels International?
Why does he conveniently go mute and flee into the solitude of a rabbit hole each time he is asked direct questions about his role in the sale of national assets?
Brother Hakainde should be the last person to lecture anyone on matters of selling national assets.
However from the way he is going, he should be the prime candidate for a lobotomy of morality.
Blind rage and desperation has clouded his already poor knackered judgement.
Desperation can lead to dementia. Brother HH is in a fix and he needs to be fixed from evil fixations.
How does Hichilema profit Zambia when he lies, sabotages and destroys livelihoods just for the sake of his hunger for plot one?
What is the substance of a desperate man driven by the terror of his possible "debt burden" to foreign campaign sponsors, together with his fear of extinction?
It is the stuff of a shady character; a person who lies through his teeth.
Hakainde is NOT a gatherer of the people; he is a scatterer of the people.
He is NOT a man of the people; he is a man against the people.
Hakainde is NOT a leader of the people; he is a bleeder of the people.
It is his deception during a Radio Interview that triggered the misinformation that led to the protests.
Hakainde is a desperate liar and a cheat – and that’s putting it mildly.
